Heinrich Harrer leaves his wife and unborn child and journeys to
the Himalayas to climb mountains. While he is there, war breaks out and
he and his fellow climbers are placed in a prisoner-of-war camp. They escape
and he and Peter Aufschnaiter travels to Tibet, where Heinrich becomes a close
confidant to Dalai Lama.
